Thanks to my German friends Conny and Josef - for recommending our hotel and tour guide in Saigon!!! What a great adventure. So our tour guide Mr. Cong… was actually 12… ok not really but very young… Our adventure was part young person’s view (our guide), history lecture, food adventure, and fabulous hotel. Let’s get it kicked off.

These windows were supposed to mimic bamboo They were very cool |
Then it was off to lunch sitting at a local cafe where we ordered drinks… and our guide had Banh-mi delivered on the back of a scooter… delicious!!
We also visited a place where the inlaid art was made… I think Nancy and both gravitated toward the pieces that were made with broken egg shells.
I bought a small piece - come visit me in SF to see it !!
One of the places we visited was the War Remnants Museum. The history of the Vietnam War from their perspective. It was quite sobering. I don’t even know what to write about it…. Except geeze when is the world going to stop :(
Before checking into the hotel we went to Landmark 81 the tallest building in Vietnam… not a fan of heights… but Nancy was fearless

I stayed in for the photo |

Nancy donned appropriate PPE and went outside :) |
We checked into the Reverie Hotel. WOW… Less than 300 USD per night… and it was fabulous!! Photos tomorrow. We rested a bit for our next adventure… cocktails at 2 iconic bars, then a stroll through a street that is all pedestrian in the evening on our way to a wonderful dinner…

Bar 1 - The Majestic |
